Director of Real Estate and Development, 2 Hour Learning (Remote) - $200,000/year USD Base pay range: $100.00/hr - $100.00/hr

If you've managed the launch of a school, healthcare facility, or commercial site and found yourself thinking, "There has to be a faster, smarter way," this role is worth your attention. 2 Hour Learning is scaling the fastest school model in the nation. Opening a new location, however, depends on regulatory approval. Licenses, permits, and compliance filings must be executed correctly and expeditiously. Your role is to determine requirements, sequence submissions properly, and ensure timely approvals. You'll leverage AI‑driven tools and automation systems while also engaging directly—making calls, coordinating with contractors, and resolving exceptions that technology alone cannot address. This position suits individuals who excel under complexity and time pressure. You will operate within a high‑velocity organization backed by substantial resources, where speed is standard and quality is mandatory. AI will be your lever to cut through red tape, accelerate permitting cycles, and deliver results—not just documentation. If you're ready to be the person who transforms "pending approval" into "ready to open," this is the opportunity.

What You Will Be Doing

Coordinating among architects, contractors, and legal counsel to obtain all necessary construction and operational permits for educational facilities.

Managing municipal permitting and inspection workflows across multiple jurisdictions—reducing timelines and removing obstacles.

Compiling and filing comprehensive approval packages: permits, applications, regulatory submissions, and inspection records.

Overseeing project progress and compliance exposure across all sites—ensuring real‑time transparency and no unexpected delays.

Traveling to project locations (~75%) to engage directly with local government officials, inspectors, and service providers to sustain momentum.

What You Won’t Be Doing

Waiting for others to flag problems or finalize submissions—you will own full accountability for outcomes.

Operating solely from a central office—this is a field‑driven execution role, not administrative support.

Following a rigid, one‑size‑fits‑all process by jurisdiction—you will design custom solutions as challenges arise.

Treating delays as unavoidable—both speed and accuracy define this position.

Depending on outdated systems or manual oversight—continuous automation and improvement are expected.
