Senior Structural Engineer – Chicago, IL
ABNA Corporation is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer (Professional Engineer required, Structural Engineer preferred) for our Chicago, IL location. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills and is able to thrive in a flexible, team‑oriented environment.
Responsibilities
Lead engineer for bridge design projects, including planning, analysis, and design of conventional and innovative bridge types.
Perform structural design calculations, develop bridge design details and specifications, and oversee geometric layout to ensure successful execution.
Prepare document plans, specifications, and estimates for design/build and conventional bridge projects.
Develop structural details and construction plans using MicroStation, Geopak, or AutoCAD.
Conduct bridge condition inspections and prepare inspection reports.
Monitor budgets, schedules, client management, and quality control, and provide leadership throughout project lifecycle.
Travel as required.
Qualifications
10+ years’ experience in Civil/Structural Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) required; Structural Engineer (SE) preferred within 2 years of hire.
Experience with IDOT & Illinois Tollway preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, MicroStation, and AutoCAD.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage projects from preliminary planning through completion.
Benefits Competitive salary range: $100k – $150k+ and comprehensive benefits package.
