Assistant Professor – Nursing
Join the Department of Nursing within the Manning College of Nursing and Health Sciences at UMass Boston for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor beginning September 1, 2026. The position is designed to strengthen our research portfolio and enhance undergraduate and graduate educational programs.
Research and Teaching Expectations
Develop an independent research agenda in health policy, aging/gerontology, maternal and child health, mental and behavioral health, community‑engaged research, or clinically focused research (e.g., cardiovascular, diabetes, oncology).
Secure external funding and publish peer‑reviewed, data‑based articles. Preference for applicants with a completed postdoctoral fellowship and established independent research agenda.
Teach across the life course of diverse populations, focusing on health equity.
Deliver courses in both in‑person and online formats; prior online teaching experience is desirable.
Qualifications
Earned research doctorate in nursing or a related field.
Eligibility for RN licensure in Massachusetts.
Evidence of external funding or potential to secure it.
Experience in higher‑education teaching and a passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
