Santa Clara, CA 95054 – Hybrid (3 days onsite and 2 days remote)
Duration:

A detail‑oriented Accounting Specialist will provide essential support for the pre‑ and post‑acquisition phases of a recently signed transaction. This is a hands‑on role with responsibility for preparing key technical accounting deliverables, including Purchase Price Allocation (PPA) journal entries.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with SOX control requirements by understanding intangible asset valuation methods and preparing a thorough tie‑out of the valuation report to the underlying support data.
Analyze financial activity during the "stub period" (from the target’s latest audited financial statement to the closing balance sheet date) to validate the completeness and accuracy of the closing balance sheet.
Prepare and post PPA journal entries accurately within SAP.
Assist in the design and preparation of the Statement of Cash Flows for the combined entity in the post‑acquisition environment.
Review and confirm the implementation of policy alignments across various technical areas, including fixed assets, prepaids, deferred contract costs, and leases.
Qualifications
Solid foundation in US GAAP, particularly concerning journal entry preparation and financial statement compilation. Familiarity with ASC 805 (Business Combinations) and ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) is a plus.
Advanced Excel skills; ability to manage large datasets, develop trackers, and create cash flow models.
Proven ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in valuation reports and general ledger data.
Demonstrated comfort with a fast‑paced, dynamic environment where priorities are subject to change.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
10+ years of relevant accounting experience in general ledger accounting, audit, or financial reporting.
Experience with SAP is preferred. Prior experience assisting with M&A integrations or purchase accounting is highly desirable.
