Job Summary Under the general supervision of the Fiscal Services Director, this position performs a variety of complex technical and specialized functions supporting the District's position control, payroll, purchase requisitions, and financial analysis. The Senior Accountant serves as a technical resource for allocating funding sources to expense items, including approving position control and budget lines. This role works directly with departments to develop and monitor financial and accounting records in support of the District's central business operations and LCAP financials. The Senior Accountant leads coordination of fiscal services staff and operates with limited supervision, exercising independent judgment and decision‑making skills regarding standard accounting procedures for the District.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business and/or accounting, or equivalent academic or technical programs; Master’s degree preferred.
Advanced proficiency with computer applications, including word processing, database, spreadsheet, accounting, and communication software.
Minimum five years of accounting experience in large or medium‑sized institutions; school district experience desirable.
Experience with comprehensive computerized data analysis.
Demonstrated tact, courtesy, positive attitude, and ability to maintain cooperative relationships with all contacts.
