Risk Manager – Senior Manager, Risk Management Lyft’s purpose is to serve and connect. This Senior Manager, Risk Management role will lead insurance procurement for Rideshare, Bikes & Scooters, Fleet, and Corporate, and act as the primary point of contact for key broker and carrier partners.

Responsibilities

Manage the strategy, full renewal cycle, and day-to-day maintenance of Lyft’s international insurance and bikes and scooter programs.

Develop and execute post‑acquisition insurance integration strategy.

Establish and build relationships with insurance carrier and broker partners.

Partner with Lyft’s Actuarial, Claims, and Legal teams to ensure optimal renewal outcomes and structures.

Act as an insurance subject‑matter expert and advise internal teams on potential risks and coverage requirements for Lyft’s emerging international risks.

Review insurance limits and terms in contractual agreements and provide evidence of insurance when required.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders on insurance forecasting, planning, and analysis involving new initiatives and company growth.

Act as an advocate and internal champion for cross‑company insurance partnerships, ensuring alignment and success across all relevant business units.

Document and track coverage structures, rates, and renewal calendar.

Experience

Minimum of 7 years of experience in P&C at an insurance carrier, broker, or risk management role, with a concentration in International programs.

Minimum of a bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Insurance, or a related field.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Strong organization and time‑management skills.

Process‑driven with an ability to identify and implement efficiencies.

Ability to balance attention to detail with a fast‑paced Lyft environment.

Passion for Lyft, ridesharing, and Lyft’s LUS.

Work Location This role will be in‑office on a hybrid schedule. Team members are expected to work in the office three days per week—Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Lyft considers working in the office at least three days per week to be an essential function of this hybrid role. Hybrid roles also have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to four weeks per year.

Compensation Expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco area: $118,000 – $147,500. Equity, bonus, and benefits are not included in this range and are dependent on qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
