The Registered Professional Nurse in the Emergency Department (ED) coordinates total nursing care, participates in patient and family teaching, and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional practice in the clinical setting. The patient population ranges in ages from newborn to geriatric. Responsibilities
Coordinate total nursing care for patients in the Emergency Department. Participate in patient and family teaching. Provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel. Maintain professional practice standards in the clinical setting. Assist with Medivac Transport Team as needed. Qualifications
A Registered Nurse with a current license in any US State or Territory; must become licensed in Alaska within one (1) year following hire. Must observe confidentiality regulations as established by BBAHC Policy, State of Alaska and Federal Law. Must maintain a professional standard of ethics at all times. Prefer a minimum of two (2) years of experience. Knowledge of native culture preferred and cultural sensitivity. Ability to initiate, coordinate and complete quality monitoring forms and submit reports. Demonstrate knowledge principles of growth and development over the lifespan (e.g., pediatric/adult/geriatric). Ability to travel to villages as necessary. Basic Life Support required. ACLS and PALs required to staff the Emergency Department. NRP preferred for L&D staffing. TNCC preferred for Emergency Department staffing. Seniority level
