HR Manager | Holland, MI

Salary Range: $85,000 - $130,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead talent acquisition and recruitment for production, engineering, and skilled trades positions.
  • Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes within the manufacturing plant.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with labor laws and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).
  • Oversee performance management systems, including appraisals, goal setting, and development plans for all plant personnel.
  • Coordinate and facilitate training programs focused on safety, quality, new equipment operation, and leadership development.
  • Administer compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and equity for manufacturing roles.
  • Drive initiatives to improve employee engagement, retention, and foster a positive, safety-conscious workplace culture.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an HR Manager in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of labor laws, OSHA regulations, and HR compliance specific to manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, conflict resolution, and grievance handling.
  • Experience with full-cycle talent acquisition for production, skilled trades, and technical roles.
  • Ability to align HR strategy with operational goals, promoting a positive and safe work culture.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with labor relations or collective bargaining agreements.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and manufacturing safety best practices.
  • Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish/English).
  • Experience with time & attendance systems common in manufacturing environments.
