Job Summary The CH‑47F Standardization Pilot supports Army aviation operations by conducting aircrew standardization, training, and evaluations in accordance with contract requirements, AR 95‑1, and applicable training manuals. This contractor role provides technical oversight and mentorship to Maintenance Test Pilots and aircrews while ensuring safe, compliant flight operations. The position works closely with the Chief Pilot to identify training trends, mitigate risk, and support aviation safety programs.
Primary Responsibilities
Plans, organizes, and directs the test flight operations of the CH‑47 fleet to meet PWS requirements.
Implements/enforces standard operating procedures in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Army regulations, company policies and procedures.
Performs aerial flight duties maintaining currency and proficiency in accordance with applicable service guidance technical publications and applicable FAA regulations.
Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease cycle time and streamline workflow processes.
Develops and sustains a culture of safety, quality compliance, and professionalism.
Ensures sufficient manpower, technical data, and equipment are available to meet PWS requirements.
Monitors attendance, approves timecards, assigns overtime.
Applies Company policy and procedures pertaining to the promotion, training, discipline, and termination of employees.
Ensures employees possess the qualifications and certifications necessary to perform their jobs.
Qualifications and Experience
Must be a graduate of the U.S. Army Maintenance Test Pilot Course (MTPC) Phase II or have passed an equivalency evaluation administered by a U.S. Army Directorate of Evaluation and Standardization Maintenance Examiner for the CH‑47.
Must have recorded a minimum of 1,000 flight hours as first pilot in helicopters, 500 hours as pilot in command in the CH‑47 desired.
Applicants must hold a valid and current FAA Commercial/Instrument rating in helicopters, an FAA Certified Flight Instructor/Instrument Instructor rating in helicopters, as well as an FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
Must meet the qualification requirements IAW AR 95‑20. Must meet FAA instrument certification requirements.
High School Diploma mandatory; bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
Able to obtain/maintain security clearance as required by PWS.
Must possess competent computer skills.
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Must be able to move about both inside aircraft hangars and outside on aircraft ramps within close proximity of running equipment and aircraft.
Must be reliable, self‑motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining a professional and non‑confrontational attitude.
