About the Role
The Embassy Suites Washington D.C. Convention Center is searching for an Event Manager. The hotel is located in downtown Washington D.C., just 1.5 blocks from the Convention Center between the White House and the Capitol. It features 388 guestrooms and 10,665 square feet of meeting space, making it ideal for both leisure and business travelers.
Pay Range $28.00 to $33.50 per hour, based on experience, with participation in the Hilton Sales Incentive plan.
Shift Pattern Office hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with required flexibility for varying schedules, including weekends and holidays.

What I’ll Be Doing As an Event Manager, you will handle event documentation and coordination with Sales, hotel departments, and customers to ensure consistent, high‑level service across all phases of hotel events. You will enable a seamless turnover from sales to service and back to sales, identify opportunities to maximize revenue by upselling and offering event enhancements, and serve as the primary contact for clients following turnover on property.
Organize, plan, and prioritize duties by developing plans and goals.
Communicate timely to internal and external clients via telephone, email, written documents, or in person.
Create and maintain relationships with clients to set and meet expectations.
Demonstrate knowledge of job systems, products, booking systems, and processes.
Resolve conflicts and negotiate with others while handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances.
Sell and influence both internal and external clients.
Make decisions and solve problems by analyzing and evaluating issues to determine the best solution.
Ensure high‑quality service by communicating and assisting others to understand guest needs, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed.
Participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as necessary.
Other duties as necessary.
Requirements We’re Looking For Minimum years of experience: one (1) year of hospitality‑related experience at manager level.
Knowledge of the hotel property management system (Delphi.fdc).
Relevant degree in business development or a related business field.
