The Pavilion Behavioral Health System is a 106‑bed behavioral health facility located in Champaign, Illinois, offering a secure and nurturing environment for patients across all ages through acute inpatient care, partial hospitalization programs (PHP), residential programs, addiction treatment services, and intensive outpatient programs (IOP). Responsibilities
Monitors and controls accounts receivables, oversees Business Office functions to ensure cash collection goals are met, and prepares weekly A/R meetings with the CEO and Business Office Manager to communicate results.
Improves hospital profitability by monitoring costs, staffing, payor mix, length of stay, negotiating contract terms, and preparing pro‑forma analyses for new programs or contracts.
Develops and monitors policies and procedures within generally accepted accounting principles and corporate guidelines to ensure sufficient cash flow, reduced operating costs, and increased revenues.
Prepares monthly financial statements, financial packages, and other informational reports and analyses through account analysis, variance analysis, journal entries, and internal controls.
Provides required reporting and reconciliations for Reimbursement Department, Tax Department, auditors, etc.
Prepares annual budget in conjunction with UHS standards and tailors hospital needs to UHS objectives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role in a healthcare setting.
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
Working knowledge of hospital financial operations, federal and local tax regulations, and all business office, accounting, payroll and administrative operations from registration through discharge.
Skilled in interpreting financial analysis, preparing schedules and reports, using electronic spreadsheets and manipulating data within proprietary and acquired databases.
Minimum travel 2 %.
