Job Overview Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs both general mammography imaging procedures and advanced procedures such as stereotactic biopsies, breast ultrasound and other mammography intervention procedures under guidance of a certified radiologist. Operates equipment safely and maintains ALARA standards. Performs mammography exams in accordance with MQSA, state regulations, and health centers established policies and procedures. Reports to either a Radiology Supervisor or Regional Radiology Manager.
Responsibilities
Perform general mammography imaging procedures and advanced procedures such as stereotactic biopsies, breast ultrasound and other mammography intervention procedures under guidance of a certified radiologist.
Operate equipment safely and maintain ALARA standards.
Perform mammography exams in accordance with MQSA, state regulations, and health centers’ established policies and procedures.
Report to either a Radiology Supervisor or Regional Radiology Manager.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency certificate (e.g., GED, HiSET, TASC Test).
Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
Licensed in Radiography for a minimum of one year and have successfully passed the ARRT exam in Mammography.
Continuing education and continuing experience requirements as defined by the American College of Radiology (ACR) must be maintained.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty.
Minimum 1-year experience as a mammography technologist preferred.
General knowledge of healthcare delivery services, mammography equipment, MQSA and ACR regulations.
Ability to master new tasks related to image quality and safety.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse backgrounds.
Strong attention to detail and ability to complete mammography exams in a timely manner even under stressful conditions.
Proficiency in PACS and associated equipment.
Compensation & Benefits The hourly range for this role is $43.02 to $60.04 per hour based on full-time employment. Atrius Health offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive programs, and recognition opportunities.
