Laboratory Supervisor for the Department of Chemistry instructional laboratories. This position primarily supports introductory (100-level) courses with an emphasis on analytical chemistry and also includes elements of inorganic, organic, and biochemistry. Responsibilities include preparing materials; setting up and breaking down laboratory spaces for instruction; ordering and maintaining stockroom supplies; ensuring equipment and labware are kept in good working order; supervising and directing a staff of student assistants; managing waste in compliance with EH&S standards; and coordinating with instructional faculty and course staff to provide a successful and safe instructional experience for undergraduate students. This position requires the ability to track and plan ahead to meet the instructional objectives of multiple courses by collaborating effectively with faculty and staff, and deploying work‑study assistants to ensure that instructors and students receive the appropriate supplies and support in a timely and efficient manner. The laboratory supervisor must possess a solid foundation in chemistry, the ability to troubleshoot and adapt as curricular needs evolve, and a readiness to partner with course staff to provide first‑rate instruction. Location: BOSTON, MA. Position type: Full‑time/Regular. Salary Grade: $55,300.00‑$69,700.00. Required Skills

B.A./B.S. in Chemistry with 3‑5 years of related experience (Masters preferred). Familiarity with standard chemical laboratory processes and procedures (e.g., solution preparation, acid‑base titration, dimensional analysis, reagent testing). Thorough understanding of laboratory safety and best practices. Strong organizational and leadership skills, including training, mentoring, and utilizing work‑study students. Familiarity with Excel as a tool to maintain inventories and track purchases, as well as the use of web‑based documents (e.g., Google) to share course information and assist instruction.
