Position Summary:
Aldevra, LLC is currently seeking a qualified Certified Medical Dosimetrist to support the VAMC in Baltimore, MD. This position is contingent upon contract award.
Duties and Responsibilities
Carry out medical dosimetry functions with a certified Medical Dosimetrist.
Perform, in conjunction with the Contractor’s Medical Physicist, treatment planning for SRS/SRT and SBRT.
Design treatment plans by means of computer and/or manual computation that will deliver a prescribed radiation dose and field placement technique in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist prescription to a defined tumor volume.
Consider dose‑limiting structures in the design of treatment plans and document dose in accordance with Radiation Oncologist prescription.
Assist with treatment simulations and tumor localization on dedicated devices, including CT, PET and MRI, when indicated, for radiation therapy treatment planning.
Assist in planning and oversee fabrication of compensating filters, custom shields, wedges, and other beam modifying devices.
Assist in the planning, oversee and supervise production of molds, casts, and other immobilization devices when needed.
Assist radiation therapy staff in the implementation of the treatment plan including the correct use of immobilization devices, compensators, wedges, field arrangements, and any treatment variables associated with treatment planning implementation.
Perform calculation methods for the delivery of prescribed dose, and subsequent documentation in patient files, and verification of the mathematical accuracy of all calculations using a system established by the Medical Physicist.
Provide dosimetry and technical support to Medical Physicist in radiation protection, qualitative and quantitative machine calibration, and quality assurance of the radiation therapy equipment. Assist in the application of specific methods of dosimetry, including ion chamber, TLD, or film measurements as directed by the Medical Physicist.

Security Requirements
A National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) is required, and a favorable completion of FBI fingerprint History Check must be completed. A PIV Badge is required for campus access and the Local Access Network (LAN). Contractor shall work with the sponsoring office to complete local requirements for gaining access to the network.
This position requires passing an extensive background check.
Qualifications
Must be Certified Medical Dosimetrists (CMD) certified by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board
Must be certified in medical dosimetry by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) with at least two years of continuous work experience within the last three years to ensure the CMD’s experience is current and relevant.
Must also have the following minimum years of experience, expertise, and knowledge on the following procedures, equipment, and software:
Three (3) years of experience – Varian Linear Accelerators: Edge (or equivalent).
Three (3) years of experience – Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) including Cone Beam CT (following standards of TG‑142).
Three (3) years of experience – Eclipse treatment planning system; and ARIA record & verify system, including the following treatment modalities: 2D/3D Conformal, SRS, SRT, SBRT, and IMRT/VMAT (following standards of TG‑53).
One (1) year of experience – Siemens SOMATOM go.Open Pro CT Simulator (or equivalent).
Valid driver’s license
Excellent verbal communication skills and telephone manner
Excellent and accurate written communication
Excellent attention to detail; accurate data entry
Customer Focused and team‑oriented work ethic
Able to multi‑task efficiently and accurately, focusing on quality
