Job Title: Manufacturing Controller

About the Company
We are a hyper-growth manufacturing technology company rapidly scaling production and operations across the San Francisco Bay Area. As the business continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced senior manufacturing finance professional to provide hands-on leadership and help build scalable inventory, costing, and manufacturing finance processes.
Role Overview
The Manufacturing Controller serves as the finance owner for inventory, cost accounting, and acts as a trusted partner to Operations, Supply Chain, and IT. This role functions as the finance administrator for the inventory and costing modules within the ERP system and plays a key role in strengthening controls, reporting, and financial visibility in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Own inventory and cost accounting for a high-growth environment
Act as finance administrator for inventory and costing within the ERP system
Manage staff responsible for vendor setup, item master maintenance, and cost configuration
Monitor inventory transactions and ensure accurate valuation
Lead investigation and resolution of inventory, cost, and manufacturing variances
Own the month-end close for inventory and cost of goods sold
Prepare gross margin bridge analysis and inventory roll-forward schedules
Manage and allocate freight, warehousing, and customs into landed cost
Design, implement, and improve inventory processes and internal controls
Create dashboards and ERP enhancements
Support audits and cross-functional initiatives related to manufacturing finance
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
8+ years of experience in manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, and inventory management
Strong hands-on experience in inventory, COGS, and manufacturing cost structures
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, scaling manufacturing environment
Strong analytical, leadership, and cross-functional communication skillsAvailability to work onsite 3–4 days per week
Long-term contract with potential to convert to full-time based on performance and business needs
High-visibility role with immediate impact on operational and financial outcomes
