We have an opportunity for an electrical engineer who is seeking to utilize their strong academic background and experience in RF/Microwave system theory and design, including architectures, subsystems, and components. This role will include oversight of material delivery, build, and test, and involve support of suppliers and obsolescence. It requires cross‑functional collaboration and a basic understanding of module‑level RF test, power electronics, and circuit design. Tasks include supporting development and technical management of both engineering disciplines and suppliers for programs throughout the product life cycle.
Key Responsibilities
Support development or production for programs throughout the product life cycle.
Development and supplier support for RF Downlink.
Design and develop transmitters, receivers, exciters, and oscillators.
Technical management of both engineering disciplines and suppliers.
Travel to integration sites, customer and subcontractor facilities as required.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight years of prior relevant experience, including any combination of the following:
Experience with power electronics, control systems, signal processing and/or RF/microwave.
Experience with circuit design, analysis, and troubleshooting.
Experience with defense industry standards.
Experience with obsolescence mitigation, support to component suppliers, plan and execution of application validation tests, support to major component 2nd source activities.
Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS, ADS, CST, Mentor Graphics’ Xpedition and analytical tools such as Matlab.
Qualifications We Prefer
Familiarity with missile communication transceivers and data links, inertial measurement units (IMU) and Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver subsystems.
Problem‑Solving Skills:
Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues in complex systems.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Communication Skills:
Ability to clearly communicate technical information to non‑technical stakeholders.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Team Collaboration:
Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to collaborate with other engineers, procurement and production staff, and project managers.
Project Management:
Experience managing engineering projects from conception through production.
Ability to coordinate with suppliers and manage timelines and budgets.
Quality Assurance:
Familiarity with Root Cause Corrective Action.
Understanding of quality assurance processes and standards in the defense industry.
Experience with reliability testing and failure analysis.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
Ability to drive innovation and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements, including export control and ITAR.
Strong academic background includes courses in Microwave Engineering, Microwave Systems, Electromagnetic Theory and Radar Systems.
Strong hands‑on experience with microwave testing techniques, including using spectrum analyzers, Real‑time Spectrum Analyzers (RSAs), Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and Performance Network Analyzer (PNAs).
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering OR PhD degree in Electrical Engineering is a plus.
