Overview
Storage Engineer with Security Clearance – Design, deploy, maintain, and secure platform storage infrastructure for a high‑performance, highly available environment in McLean, VA. Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and securely maintain storage infrastructure. Ensure storage systems meet performance, capacity, and availability requirements. Respond to incidents and service requests related to storage infrastructure. Perform routine health checks, capacity planning, and performance analysis. Execute firmware upgrades, patches, and configuration changes as directed. Qualifications
BS in Computer Science, IT, or related field. 5+ years of storage engineering experience. Knowledge of Linux distributions, user management, security hardening, and system troubleshooting. Experience with Fibre Channel, Fibre Channel over Ethernet, iSCSI, NFS, SMB/CIFS, NVMe/TCP, NVMe/RoCE. Hands‑on experience with ext4, XFS, Btrfs and selecting the appropriate file system. Understanding of RAID levels and disk management techniques. Experience deploying, configuring, and managing SAN and NAS solutions. Hands‑on experience with major vendors like Dell EMC, NetApp, or HPE Nimble. Experience setting up synchronous/asynchronous data replication for disaster recovery. Proficiency with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Zabbix. Intermediate scripting experience for automating routine tasks. Experience with Ansible, Chef, or Puppet to manage storage infrastructure as code. Experience optimizing NVMe‑based systems and managing flash memory performance. Working knowledge of AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud Storage. Familiarity with Ceph, Swift, or other object storage platforms. Knowledge of Lustre, GPFS/Spectrum Scale. Travel up to 20% of the time for on‑site installations and maintenance. Required Security Clearance
Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph. Level II IAM. Top Secret (Required). Location
McLean, VA – In person. Compensation
Full‑time. Salary range: $160,000 – $200,000.
