Health and Safety Manager Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Manager to ensure compliance with safety regulations and lead emergency response efforts at various environmental and remediation sites. Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 and other applicable regulations. Develop, implement, and maintain the Site Health and Safety Plan (HASP) and Emergency Response Plan (ERP). Lead emergency response efforts including chemical spills, fires, and medical emergencies. Serve as Incident Commander or Safety Officer during emergency events. Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs). Deliver HAZWOPER and emergency response training to site personnel. Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate safety records and report performance metrics. Collaborate with site supervisors, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Essential Skills

5 years of experience in health and safety in environmental and/or remediation. Proficiency with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 regulations. Experience in developing and implementing Health and Safety Plans (HASP) and Emergency Response Plans (ERP). Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and NFPA regulations. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field. Experience in nuclear power and electrical environments. Knowledge of Incident Command System (ICS), National Incident Management System (NIMS), Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), HAZWOPER, Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP), and Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS). The initial site is an electrical battery plant in Half Moon Bay. Future assignments may include various locations such as nuclear power sites. Expect a dynamic work environment with opportunities to work on diverse projects across the West Coast. Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of San Jose, CA. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100,000.00 - $150,000.00/yr. This is direct hire with full benefits. Daily high per diem. Medical, dental and vision. 1 year project then projects thereafter. Long term opportunity. Workplace Type
