Sealed Air is undergoing transformational change and we need dynamic leaders in our Innovation & Development organization to drive that change.

This position will support our growth strategy by leading the development of automation equipment and optimizing our current portfolio of solutions in the high‑performance packaging space. The scope of work in the I&D organization is broad and will require this position to provide technical and project leadership within I&D, across department boundaries, and with external partners, throughout all stages of product development and lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

Develop technical skill set of the engineering team in machine design and equipment development.

Lead and teach the team in professional skill sets and business acumen with a focus on creating influential collaboration that speeds up the implementation and growth of Sealed Air’s solutions.

Provide strategic leadership to drive the enhancement of current product lines and the development of new product lines.

Create a clear understanding of customer value statements and drive the validation of the value created.

Lead multiple initiatives to provide technical solutions to customers and drive the cross‑functional execution required to ensure commercial success of new solutions.

Provide technical oversight throughout development efforts.

Serve as a strategic partner to Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain to implement solutions regionally.

Work with the Supply Chain organization to improve the manufacturability of our equipment solutions and the strength of our current portfolio.

Drive efficiency projects related to project execution.

Manage manpower loading and load leveling.

Develop and drive group metrics.

Develop and implement ISO processes and procedures.

Map existing processes and determine future states.

Lead and develop managers and supervisors.

Assist in the identification and development of third‑party partners.

Ensure the team meets project deliverables on time and at cost.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.

Demonstrated history of professional and technical leadership.

Demonstrated history of people management/development skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication of technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.

Demonstrated success in managing competing priorities.

Demonstrated success in building high‑performance teams and attracting/retaining best‑in‑class technical talent.

Proven track record of opportunity identification and translating ideas into commercial success.

Ability to work both independently and within a team, generating results with general/minimal guidance.

Proven business acumen facilitating collaboration across functions, regions, and business segments.

Broad technical knowledge and hands‑on experience in functional area(s).

Demonstrated history of meeting technical challenges with creative and innovative solutions.

Ability to effectively interface with internal and external customers and provide a high level of customer service.

Experienced in on‑site installation and troubleshooting of equipment and systems.

Strong interpersonal skills and a work ethic that corresponds with Sealed Air’s core values.

Knowledgeable and experienced with project management philosophies and application.

10 years experience in developing drafting standards.

5 years experience leading and managing engineers, designers, and administrators; creating meaningful development plans and assisting staff to meet all goals.

5 years experience mapping processes.

5 years experience developing processes and procedures.

5 years experience developing and managing project schedules.

5 years experience with New Product Development and sustaining engineering activities.

Detail oriented.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in a technical discipline or MBA.

PMP certification.
