Base pay range:

THE ROLE As a Sustainability Principal focusing on client relationships, you’ll drive business development at a strategic level across the Fashion & Sporting Goods sector in the US. You will build and maintain high‑impact client relationships, lead large‑scale projects, own business development strategies for your sector, and secure high‑value contracts. You will develop long‑term client partnerships, design and implement account strategies aligned with client priorities, and serve as a line manager supervising your team’s work and mentoring colleagues across other teams.

You’re eager to apply your sustainability experience, business development, client relationship, and consulting capabilities, and leadership skills to our mission of aligning businesses with planetary boundaries. You have 8–12+ years in strategy consulting and/or the Fashion, Textile Retail, Sporting Goods, Luxury sectors, a strong sector knowledge, a network, a successful track record in sales, visionary team leadership, strong stakeholder engagement, project management experience, and a science‑based mindset. You bring an entrepreneurial mindset, are confident using generative AI tools, communicate effectively in fluent English, and have a Master’s or PhD in a relevant field.

Qualifications 8–12+ years in strategy consulting and/or in the Fashion, Textile Retail, Sporting Goods, Luxury sectors.

Successful track record in sales, building strategies, and securing new client relationships.

Effective peer and team leadership, strategic decision‑making, and influential stakeholder engagement.

Strong project management experience and skills.

Master’s or PhD (or equivalent experience) in Environmental Science, Engineering, Business, Economics, or related discipline.

Curiosity, science‑based mindset, and motivation to learn and grow.

Entrepreneurial mindset and enjoyment of co‑creating innovative solutions with your team.

Proficiency in generative AI tools with a critical and thoughtful mindset.

Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Additional Highlights Additional knowledge in further corporate sustainability topics and/or sectors beyond your specific sector.

Experience with corporate/product footprinting, nature (biodiversity, water), climate strategy & risk, land & agriculture, ESG reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

Good knowledge of sustainability frameworks relevant to your sector and expertise.

Details Contract: Permanent

Location: New York (preferred), Boston, Denver. Hybrid scheme

Compensation target: $160,000.00 – $169,000.00 per year

Optimal start date: To be discussed

Travel required (occasionally)
