Role Overview We are seeking a hands‑on Head of Engineering to lead our technology strategy and execution. This role is ideal for a senior engineering leader with a proven track record of building secure, scalable systems in high‑growth or startup environments. As a key member of the leadership team, you will define our long‑term engineering vision, guide architectural decisions, and mentor a growing team.
Responsibilities
Set and drive the long‑term technical vision and engineering roadmap
Lead, mentor, and grow a high‑performing engineering team
Foster a collaborative, innovative culture aligned with company values
Own end‑to‑end architecture and execution for all technical initiatives
Ensure adherence to best practices, including code quality, security, performance, and scalability
Guide technology stack decisions and evaluate emerging technologies for business impact
Partner with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure alignment and delivery
Communicate technical concepts clearly to executive and non‑technical stakeholders
Oversee project timelines, delivery milestones, and resource allocation
Implement rigorous QA, testing, and deployment processes
Manage budgets, tools, and infrastructure investments
Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent
Build an inclusive, results‑oriented culture and mentor engineers at all levels
Requirements
10+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in leadership roles
Proven success scaling engineering teams and systems in startup or high‑growth environments
Expertise in software architecture, cloud infrastructure, and data systems
Familiarity with modern SDLC practices: CI/CD, automated testing, code review, Agile methodologies
Experience with compliance, data privacy, or fintech regulations is a strong plus
Strong strategic thinking, decision‑making, and communication skills
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and leading in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment
Hybrid in‑office requirement at NYC headquarters (3 days a week)
Benefits & Compensation Competitive base salary
$225,000 ‑ $275,000
per year; additional benefits include equity, health insurance, and referral bonuses. 2‑day remote flexibility.
