About the Role
As a Regional Markets Account Executive, you will support MetLife’s growth by providing global benefits, sales, and solutions to U.S.-based employers with fewer than 5,000 employees. With more than 15,000 customers, the team generates approximately $1.1 billion in annual sales and $4+ billion in revenue. The $52 billion market typically grows 3‑4%; MetLife consistently achieves 6‑7% growth.
Responsibilities
Engage with advisors within a defined territory and find solutions that improve employers’ insurance offerings, providing more people with quality insurance.
Lead and assist in account management and creation.
Build lasting relationships with local consultants and brokers to grow the book of business.
Recognize occasions to upsell and offer new services to existing clients.
Collaborate with colleagues on marketing, communication, and client services initiatives, developing new skills to complement sales knowledge.
Qualifications
Experience in group benefit sales and/or after‑sales service with a proven track record of success.
Valid Life & Health and Property & Casualty licenses, or the ability to obtain them within six months of hire.
Stellar customer‑service, communication, and interpersonal skills, including public speaking, negotiating, influencing, and networking; finely tuned listening and problem‑solving abilities.
Strategic and creative thinking skills.
Keen financial acumen and attention to detail regarding product earnings.
Motivated, independent, and adaptable working style, capable of thriving in fast‑paced, multitasking environments.
Accomplished change‑management leader, able to operate effectively in a highly matrixed environment.
Ability to travel locally/market 25‑50% of the time for face‑to‑face client engagement.
The expected salary range for this position is $55,000. The role may also be eligible for incentive compensation under the sales plan.
