Over 50 certified Pediatric Emergency Medicine nurses across the system In-house Pediatric Hospitalists and Neonatologists available 24/7 Certified Child Life Specialists to support children and families during care Advanced practice providers (APPs) and emergency medicine physicians Fellowship-trained PEM physicians leading initiatives in education, quality improvement, and clinical innovation Collaborative subspecialty support from nearly every pediatric medical and surgical specialty within our 90-bed children’s hospital A culture of team-based care, continuous learning, and shared decision-making Practice Highlights
4-bed pediatric emergency zone at GWV designed for infants, children, and teens 20% pediatric admission rate and 8% critical care rate in the ED Dual faculty appointment in Emergency Medicine & Pediatrics 1,544 clinical hours/year for optimal work-life balance Multi-site practice options in Wilkes-Barre and Danville, PA Professional Growth & Leadership Opportunities
System-building roles in IT, QI/PI, and clinical pathway development Medical education for EM, Pediatric, and Med-Peds residents, and medical students Simulation training, clinical research, and administrative leadership Fellowship opportunities in Ultrasound, Clinical Informatics, and more Compensation & Benefits
Starting salary: $350,000 Fellowship stipend: $2,500/month from offer acceptance to graduation Forgivable recruitment loan: $100,000 paid in the first month Relocation assistance, malpractice with tail, and retirement contributions $3,500 CME allowance annually Low cost of living and proximity to NYC, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine – required Licensed Medical Doctor – State of Pennsylvania – required Board Certified or Board Eligible Pediatric Emergency Medicine – required About GWV
