Schedule: 36 hours, Day/Evening

About the Moakley PACU Same Day Surgery Center: The Ambulatory Surgery Center’s PACU consists of 12 permanent bays with 3 additional swing bays, uniquely designed for patients. These bays are set up for preoperative patients and intensive care monitoring for postoperative patients, allowing quick movement into and out of operating suites.

Job Responsibilities

Deliver nursing care in the Perioperative Services unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.

Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families.

Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.

Update and manage patient records.

Enter and interpret computerized data and information.

Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.

Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects.

Job Requirements

Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Preferred: 1+ years of RN experience.

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required in certain units.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred); ability to obtain a BSN within 4 years.

Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty; certification required for certain practice areas.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.

Basic computer proficiency.

Fluency in another language is a plus.

Compensation Range $38.05–$79.47 per hour. The range reflects education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements. Total compensation includes benefits, contract increases, Flexible Spending Accounts, 403(b) savings matches, earned time cash out, paid time off, career advancement opportunities, and resources to support employee and family well‑being.
