Position Summary / Career Interest
Liberty Hospital, now part of The University of Kansas Health System, is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon who enjoys collaborative practice on a CTS team in a fast paced, highly acute, and diverse clinical practice. Being one of two surgeons in a highly regarded suburban hospital provides a wide range and variety of cases and the opportunity to become a recognized pillar of the community. The recent affiliation with the University of Kansas Health System provides the best of both worlds. The surgeon has the opportunity to have an academic position at the University of Kansas School of Medicine along with a busy high intensity community practice in a rapidly growing metropolitan region and a very large rural community. The University of Kansas Cancer Center is a nationally recognized NCI designated cancer center. Our robotic lung cancer volumes have markedly increased and having a multidisciplinary tumor board assures contemporary evidence-based care for our patients. The candidate is expected to have superb surgical skills in all aspects of cardiac and thoracic surgery, be board certified or eligible in thoracic surgery, and have broad experience and meet targeted quality outcome measures.
Required Qualifications
Board Eligible/Board Certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery
Completion of Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship
Must be able to obtain or maintain Kansas and Missouri medical licenses
