Job Summary VSU seeks an innovative, dynamic, data-driven leader to serve as the inaugural Executive Director of the Mary Virginia Terry Center for Experiential Learning.
The Director will coordinate signature experiential‑learning (EL) activities for students throughout their college careers, lead the Center’s strategic plan, and build strong community partnerships to expand real‑world learning opportunities.

Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership for the Mary Virginia Terry Center, including mission, vision, and a multi‑year strategic plan.
Establish a student‑centered, centralized hub for experiential learning opportunities across campus, coordinating with Enrollment & Student Affairs and the Center for South Georgia Regional Impact.
Supervise, coordinate, and collaborate with faculty and staff on internships, practicums, apprenticeships, co‑ops, study abroad, and service‑learning programs.
Develop and maintain assessment schedules to ensure quality and student success in EL courses and programs.
Ensure equitable access to EL opportunities for all students, including traditional, non‑traditional, online, and commuter students.
Apply for public and private grants and pursue external funding for EL initiatives.
Lead day‑to‑day coordination and operation of the Center.
Manage the Center’s budget and serve as budget manager.
Chair the Terry Center Advisory Board and foster collaboration with the Center for South Georgia Regional Impact.
Conduct assessments, compile reports on program effectiveness, and stay current on best practices in experiential education.
Carry out any additional duties necessary to fulfill Center functions.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree with at least 10 years of teaching and experiential‑learning experience, or terminal degree with 7 years of teaching and experiential‑learning experience.
Seven years of supervisory or leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
Strong grant‑writing track record and experience securing external funding.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experienced in developing and managing experiential‑learning programs.
Proven program assessment and evaluation expertise.
Strong organizational and project‑management skills.
Proposed Salary Commensurate with experience.
