APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in Sterling Heights, MI looking to add a TRUMPF Laser Operator to their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be to operate and program 5-axis TRUMPF laser systems to produce high-quality, precision-cut parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. What your day will look like:
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot TRUMPF 5-axis laser cutting machines to support daily production.
- Program equipment both offline and online using TruTops software.
- Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and detailed work instructions to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Adjust machine programs, tooling, and parameters to maximize cut quality and reduce cycle time.
- Perform first-article inspections and conduct ongoing in-process quality checks to verify accuracy.
- Monitor machine performance and complete routine preventative maintenance tasks.
- Partner with engineering, quality, and production teams to drive process improvements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant work area at all times.
What we are looking for:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience operating TRUMPF laser systems
- Demonstrated proficiency with 5-axis laser cutting equipment
- Strong command of TruTops for both offline and online programming
- Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints and GD&T requirements
- Experience working with a variety of metals, including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
- Solid mechanical aptitude with strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in high-mix, low-volume, or prototype manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with automation and material handling systems
- Prior experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives
