Description Robert Half Management Resources is seeking an experienced Finance Director to deliver senior-level financial leadership and ensure operational continuity for nonprofit client. This remote, part-time contract opportunity (approximately 5-15 hours per week) involves overseeing essential financial management, compliance, and reporting responsibilities, as well as providing strategic guidance to the finance team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate steady leadership and a collaborative approach to foster stability and accuracy across all finance-related activities. Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the finance team as the interim senior finance leader, ensuring smooth operations and stability.
- Review and oversee monthly close processes, reconciliations, and reporting schedules to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
- Conduct monthly variance analyses and verify financial data for reasonableness and consistency.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements while maintaining effective internal controls.
- Provide oversight and guidance for the preparation and review of the annual Form 990.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, including the Chief Development Officer and Chief Operations Officer, to align financial operations with organizational goals.
- Offer support and mentorship to the finance team to promote retention and effective performance during the transition.
- Step in to manage daily transactions or operations, if required, to maintain continuity.
- Utilize NetSuite or similar systems to manage financial processes and reporting effectively.
- Monitor compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and grant reporting requirements.
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, compliance regulations, and reporting standards.
- Proven expertise in preparing and reviewing Form 990 and non-government grant reports.
- Proficiency in using NetSuite or similar financial systems to manage operations.
- Demonstrated ability to support and lead teams through transitional periods.
- Collaborative and steady leadership style suited to maintaining stability and retention.
- Experience with month-end close processes and variance analysis.
- Ability to ensure accuracy and compliance in all financial operations.
