DoorDash Labs is an independent team within DoorDash. We are working on building autonomous delivery robots from the ground-up and other automation solutions as part of DoorDash’s core delivery platform. About The Role
As an End of Line Engineer at DoorDash Labs you will play a critical role in scaling the production of our next-generation autonomous delivery robots. You will work with our Hardware team based in San Francisco and visit our production facilities around the Bay Area. This role is in-office 3-5 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Be part of an exciting effort to develop and manufacture an autonomous delivery robot
- Reduce the time required to validate the robot assembly process while increasing quality control coverage
- Create scripts, test equipment, and tooling used to enable rapid end of line checks
- Vendorize existing test processes to allow assembly workforce scaling
- Work with leaders and engineers across Design, Manufacturing, and Testing to incorporate changes to the design and assembly processes
Qualifications
- B.S., M.S., or PhD. in engineering, e.g. robotics, mechanical, electrical or computer science
- 5-8 years of industry experience working in manufacturing quality control
- Experience bringing up and calibrating sensing or compute systems, high voltage powertrains, and communication networks
- Hands‑on experience with CAN bus, Ethernet data logging & network analysis tools
- Experience with Linux scripting & test automation
- A working understanding of vehicle mechanicals and electronics
- An interest in or working knowledge of autonomous vehicle perception systems

Compensation
The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future. In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

Paid Time Off Details
- For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
- For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (~6.7 hours/month if working 40 hrs/week; ~3.4 hours/month if working 20 hrs/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (~5.8 hours/month if working 40 hrs/week; ~2.9 hours/month if working 20 hrs/week).
