Location/Shift: Philadelphia, PA/ 1st Shift

Salary: $30-35HR based on experience

One of our longest tenured clients with a stellar reputation has contracted Scientific Search to find them an Equipment and Maintenance Mechanic. This position will perform repairs and preventative maintenance to Production equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Obey safety rules and promote safe ways of working, including the use of personal protective equipment, machine guarding, proper lifting techniques / weight limits, and powering down equipment to prevent injuries.
  • Inspect and repair machinery as needed to support the production schedule and to minimize downtime. This includes packaging lines, tablet presses, mills, pumps, blenders, mixers, and more.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machinery on schedule and according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure that maintenance work is properly documented.
  • Observe operation of production machines to identify machine malfunctions.
  • Understand and follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) regulations.
  • Report usage of spare parts and supplies so that they can be reordered before they are fully used up.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the other departments as needed, including Production, Quality and Facilities departments, to complete production on schedule, to solve problems and to improve performance.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Manufacturing/Packaging Maintenance experience, preferably in a regulated industry such as pharmaceutical, medical devices or food.
  • Able to follow clear and concise instructions.
  • Has a high school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Works well with others in a team environment.
  • Able to read and understand electrical and pneumatic drawings.
  • Experience with Blister Pack Machines, tablet compression equipment, mills, blenders, Kettles, and mixers is preferred.
  • Ability to apply comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical cGMPs and quality system controls, procedures and records to ensure ongoing quality compliance.
  • Ability to perform all requirements independently with limited managerial oversight.
  • Superior attention to detail to ensure accuracy of work product.
  • Superior critical-thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to recognize and resolve discrepancies and issues.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software.
  • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) knowledge is preferred.
