Job Description:
Lead safety and environmental compliance for the client's Franklin manufacturing site with a strong emphasis on electrical safety, high-voltage hazards, OSHA compliance, and shop-floor engagement.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Attend daily stand-up meetings and maintain strong visibility on the shop floor
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, hazard assessments, and PPE reviews
- Perform electrical safety reviews, equipment assessments, and lockout/tagout evaluations
- Investigate incidents and injuries, execute containment actions, and drive root cause analysis
- Serve as SME for OSHA compliance, chemical safety, machine guarding, industrial vehicles, and electrical safety programs
- Lead proactive incident prevention, risk reduction, and safety improvement initiatives
- Support emergency response team activities and safety action teams
- Maintain environmental compliance programs (waste management, SPCC, air/noise monitoring, sustainability)
- Deliver safety and environmental training for new hires and current staff
- Assist with ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 requirements and internal/external audits
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, facilities, and logistics on safety improvements
- Collect and analyze safety data using Excel, PowerBI, and cloud-based EHS systems
- Create safety documentation, instruction bulletins, and standard work procedures
Requirements:
Must-Haves:
- 5+ years of Safety & Environmental experience
- Strong experience in manufacturing environments
- Electrical background or experience with electrical safety is required
- Ability to work on the shop floor ~80% of the time
- OSHA regulatory knowledge, hazard communication, chemical safety
- Incident investigation, root cause analysis, PDCA
- Proficiency in MS Excel or PowerBI; familiarity with EHS software (Intelex, Enablon, Cority, Sphera, etc.)
- Strong communication, coaching, and training skills
Nice-to-Haves:
- Professional certifications (ASP, CSP, CHMM, CIH, CIT)
- Ergonomics experience
- Project management experience
- Experience in electrical manufacturing environments
