Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) to join our Commercial Modifications Engineering team in Long Beach, California. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the development and maintenance of electrical product details, assembly, and installation designs for a diverse range of commercial aircraft, from the McDonnell Douglas MD series to the state-of-the-art Boeing 777X.

In this dynamic position, you will leverage your expertise to design and implement electrical installation solutions that enhance aircraft capabilities and operational efficiency. You will work on projects that involve retrofitting existing aircraft with advanced connectivity systems, optimizing electrical layouts, and ensuring seamless integration of new technologies. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of aircraft, enabling our customers to maintain competitive advantages in the aviation market.

You will also engage with customers, understanding their unique operational challenges and providing tailored solutions that enhance their fleet's capabilities. Occasional travel (10%) may be required in support of the program and customer.

Position Responsibilities

Develop and maintain cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs.

Analyze results and perform design reviews; develop and maintain electrical product detail, assembly, and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas).

Provide engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).

Document processes, specifications, and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.

Develop basic statements of work and participate in technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.

Analyze functional and physical input to assure development of complete designs.

Basic Qualifications

2+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer.

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement).

Experience designing/installing aircraft modifications to include fabricating and installing aircraft electrical system wiring, connectors, electrical components or avionics boxes.

Preferred Qualifications

5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Wire design experience (wiring diagrams, schematics, etc).

Experience with CADDS.

Wire routing experience (CATIA V5, ENOVA, etc).

Experience with production systems: DCAC/PDM, CDW, DELMIA, ENOVIA, ERPLN, Velocity, WIRS.

Experience with BOGART.

Experience functioning as a Design Approval Engineer (DAE).

Pay & Benefits Summary pay range (Associate): $78,000 – $139,000 Summary pay range (Mid-Level): $95,000 – $169,000
