General Manager – Minneapolis, MN TK Elevator is currently seeking an experienced General Manager in Minneapolis, MN to drive revenue growth and manage the branch’s P&L. The role involves overseeing all departments and lines of business to exceed business goals while setting expectations for safety, work ethic, professionalism, and ownership.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Supervise department managers and superintendents, providing direction and training while communicating company policies, procedures, and objectives.

Lead by example the company’s commitment to safety and administer the company safety program.

Ensure the branch’s daily operations run efficiently and cost-effectively, meeting financial commitments including target EBIT dollars and gross margin percent goals across all lines of business.

Manage profit and loss (P&L) and use accounting reports to measure each department’s performance, ensuring monthly budgetary goals are met.

Work with sales managers to increase customer base and oversee retention of service contracts.

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, elevator consultants, building owners, managers and prospects.

Oversee employee performance processes for both union and non‑union employees, recommending merit increases and reviewing compensation and bonus structures.

Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of federal, state and local elevator industry code requirements and employment & labor laws.

Maintain strong familiarity with company products through training and updates.

Review and approve invoices, accounts receivable, write‑offs and credits.

Consult with regional and district teams in operations, sales, accounting, safety and HR to coordinate HR matters and manage approvals for purchases, contracts, modifications and price adjustments.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Thorough knowledge of the elevator industry and general management methods within the industry.

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) and/or at least two years of branch departmental management experience.

Proven success managing and developing talent within the workforce.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, handling abstract and concrete variables.
