The Market Director of Sales will be responsible for identifying and soliciting qualified target accounts and nurturing existing accounts to close all qualified business to achieve sales goals (RNs, ADR, revenue and F&B). The Market Director of Sales will execute all sales related activities from outside calls, sales trips/trade shows, sites, entertainment, Fam trips, etc. Building strong, trusting, long‑lasting client, GSO and peer relationships is a must. The Market Director of Sales must ensure their financial goals in the overall revenue goal and success of the hotels in the Atlanta market. Hotels include The Tess Buckhead, Element Atlanta Buckhead, Springhill Suites Atlanta Downtown, Tru by Hilton Atlanta Galleria Ballpark.

Exceed established monthly, quarterly and annual targeted sales goals.

Maintain an active list of target accounts to ensure continuous relationship development.

Establishes new client relationships and maintains existing relationships to maximize revenue.

Actively solicits new business opportunities through prospecting target client list.

Seeks methods to penetrate key business activities within the market and finds profitable ways to bring this business to the hotel.

Actively participates in industry related organizations. Attends trade shows, community events and industry meetings to develop business.

Responsible for budget and forecast of sales revenues and goals.

Work collaboratively with all sales channels (e.g. on‑property resources) to ensure sales efforts are coordinated, complementary and not duplicative.

Understand the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and how to sell against them.

Capture and close the best opportunities for the property based on market conditions, the property's needs and within the hotel parameters.

Execute and support the operational aspects of business booked. Transfer accurate, complete and timely information to the Events department in accordance with hotel and brand standards.

Promote accountability to drive superior business results. Includes successful execution of sales strategies and business processes.

Effectively resolve guest issues that arise as a result of the sales process. Bring issues to the attention of property and sales leadership team as appropriate.

Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors.

Informs and/or updates the executives, the peers and the subordinates on relevant information in a timely manner.

Fosters open channels of communication between all employees.

Participates in the performance appraisal system process, giving feedback when needed.

Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among associates.

Follow all additional duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

Previous experience managing large high profile groups

Must possess excellent communication, follow‑up, and organizational skills

Sets high personal performance standards and enjoys keeping track of individual and team progress towards goals

Must be proactive and have a creative, positive, and focused approach

Strong leadership skills and the ability to apply them in a dynamic environment

Work cohesively with co‑workers and all departments as part of a team

Education: Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience of sales experience in area or market role with Marriott brand

Additional: Will be required to work flexible scheduled shifts based on business needs

Physical Requirements:

The minimum physical requirements for this position include but are not limited to:

Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds frequently

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time

Ability to bend and twist, push and pull, stoop, and kneel

Ascend and descend a ladder.
