Position Highlights
OB Triage and Labor and Delivery
Cross training to first assist c‑sections
Outpatient, postpartum rounding, induction patient management
Responsibilities As an CNM in Women’s Services/OB Triage with Ascension, you will see and evaluate patients in the OB Triage setting for a variety of prenatal and obstetric situations. You will triage patients based on acuity and ensure timely disposition, supporting the on‑call physician or OB resident team. Your responsibilities include:
Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview, and examination.
Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies.
Provide preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations, and patient care.
Offer direct treatment and management of health conditions with appropriate referrals.
Counsel and educate patients and families concerning preventative health, treatment options, and community resources.
Document delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specialty standards and network policy.

Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration
BLS Provider obtained within 30 days of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Certified Nurse Midwife credentialed from the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education
Master’s or Doctorate of Science in Nursing or Midwifery or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required.
