Job Description
Advance your career in the Maryland/DC region! We invite you to join our team of multispecialty anesthesiologists at the University of Maryland. We're seeking board‑eligible/board‑certified MD/DO anesthesiologists to support our rapidly expanding growth in both OR and non‑OR environments. Opportunities currently exist at our downtown campus and community practices.
Duties include clinical care and teaching of learners at all levels—SNA, medical students, residents and fellows. Our team is dedicated to helping faculty obtain outstanding skills and additional certifications in ultrasound, simulation, quality/safety/clinical research and expertise in many other disciplines. Our department has a very strong research profile (#10 national 2023 Blue Ridge Ranking) and a perioperative data warehouse with resources to facilitate clinical research.

Expected rank for this position will be Assistant Professor or higher; final rank and tenure status will be commensurate with selected candidate's experience.

Salary Range — Base Compensation (Clinical Faculty w/ MD Degree)
Instructor: $310,000 – $440,000
Assistant Professor: $243,593 – $463,092
Associate Professor: $302,830 – $492,545
Professor: $299,029 – $518,934
*The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the Department of Anesthesiology faculty compensation program or pay from participation in incentive compensation programs. The actual compensation may therefore vary from the stated range. For more information, please contact the hiring department.
Note: The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on the University of Maryland School of Medicine's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate will depend on factors such as geographic location, skills, experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
