Full Job Description Halcyon Manufacturing is a modern contract manufacturing company of machined parts and components. We are looking for a Mechanical Quality Inspector with experience inspecting precision‑machined parts. You must be able to inspect close‑tolerance aerospace components using hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, pin gages, and other measurement tools. Experience with CMM programming, ideally on a Zeiss machine, is a plus. This position has the potential to grow into a QC Lead role. We are looking for a self‑motivated individual with an aptitude to improve with a can‑do attitude and perform in a fast‑paced prototyping environment. We deliver beautifully produced parts to a wide range of sectors including Semi‑Conductor, Medical, Aerospace, and Home Defense. Our facility is filled with only the highest quality equipment and maintained to an immaculate clean/safe environment for all of our team members. Prior knowledge and experience in the precision manufacturing industry is required.
You will be responsible for in‑process, final, and receiving inspections using AS9102 standards and inspection planning software like High QA. Organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with both machinists and managers are essential.
Job Duties (But not limited to)
Perform mechanical inspection of machined parts using standard hand tools
Program and operate Zeiss CMM (or similar) for dimensional inspections
Conduct and document First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102
Use inspection software like High QA to plan and document inspections
Coordinate with machinists to support in-process and final part release
Ensure parts meet customer drawings, specs, and tolerances
Maintain detailed and organized inspection records
Support internal and external audits as needed
Assist with developing inspection processes and continuous improvement
Help lead the transition to digital planning and inspection documentation
Job Requirements
5+ years in mechanical QC inspection in precision machining environment
Strong knowledge of GD&T and interpreting engineering drawings
Hands‑on experience using: calipers, micrometers, height gages, pin gages, surface plates
Experience with CMM programming, especially Zeiss CMM (preferred)
Familiarity with AS9102 FAI, ISO 9001/AS9100 requirements
Proficient with High QA or similar inspection planning software
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Excellent attention to detail and planning

The position will be full time Monday through Friday from 8.00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
