Anodyne is building highly automated manufacturing lines to scale production of its microneedle patches. We seek a hands‑on
Advanced Process & Automation Technician
who is an expert in programming and integrating automated systems, precision operations, and building first‑of‑kind manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Operate, program, and maintain ultra‑precision dispensing platforms (e.g., Nordson EFD, Musashi, Vermes) for drug–polymer resin deposition and patterning.
Conduct micro‑dispensing of nL‑scale, high‑viscosity formulations with consistency and accuracy.
Develop, optimize, and validate dispensing processes for manufacturing scale‑up.
Perform routine calibration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of dispensing and related equipment.
Run and troubleshoot PLC‑controlled systems, including robotic pick‑and‑place modules and parts handling with conveyors.
Operate servo‑motor driven assemblies, high‑RPM formulation mixers, degassing systems, curing tools, and micro‑fabrication equipment.
Implement and integrate in‑line and post‑production automation vision systems (e.g., Keyence, Cognex) for product and manufacturing QC.
Qualifications Required
5–8+ years of hands‑on experience working with processing and dispensing microfluidics in a regulated environment (medical device, pharmaceutical, life‑science).
Strong electrical, mechanical, and controls background with industrial automation programming, including PLC programming (ladder logic, function block, structured text).
Robot programming (FANUC TP, Epson RC+, ABB RAPID, or similar).
Additional programming or automation‑related experience such as Python, C/C++, MATLAB, or other scripting for automation support.
Machine vision systems (Cognex, Keyence) for automated inspection.
Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, robotic, and software layers.
Preferred
Experience scaling systems into automated lines for medical device manufacturing.
Experience supporting equipment validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), fixture qualification, and change control in ISO 13485 or 21 CFR 820 environments.
Success Traits
Hands‑on, curious problem solver.
Comfortable in a fast‑paced start‑up setting.
Systematic troubleshooter.
