Senior Software Engineer Booz Allen is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is driven by purpose and ready to build software that directly supports mission‑critical operations across the space domain. In this role you will design, develop, and enhance the software developed for ground systems and the real‑time capabilities that space missions rely on.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of complex engineering challenges—from modernizing legacy components to architecting new mission‑focused capabilities that improve performance, resilience, and operational speed.

Shape how data is processed, how systems communicate, and how mission teams execute with precision.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality, secure, and scalable software solutions.

Engineer solutions that advance GEOINT and space operations.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software programming applications.

5+ years of experience in software development with programming languages such as Java, Python, Rust, or Go.

3+ years of experience with Linux‑based systems, containers, and orchestration tools such as Docker or Kubernetes.

Experience transitioning legacy applications to a modernized microservice‑based architecture.

Experience working within a Cloud Service Provider such as AWS, Azure, or Google.

Top Secret clearance.

Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in software engineering, or 15+ years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree.

Nice to Have

Experience in an Agile environment.

Experience acquiring client requirements and resolving workflow problems through automation optimization.

Experience with C#, C, C++, JavaScript, React, or Node.js.

Ability to work with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance.

TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.

Master’s degree.

Clearance Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Top Secret clearance is required.

Compensation Salary range: $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). This posting will close within 90 days from the posting date.

Work Model

If the position is listed as remote or hybrid, you will periodically work from a Booz Allen or client site facility.
