Sr. Ultrasound Tech - Per Diem
Location Jacobs Medical Center
Department Radiology
Work Schedule Variable, 8 hour shifts, Sunday - Saturday
Description Under supervision, performs and records all sonographic procedures and assists with some specialty procedures in accordance with established departmental guidelines and protocols. Operates various types of ultrasound equipment, transducers, and recording devices. Recognizes normal and pathological conditions and modifies the exam accordingly to ensure complete and accurate high quality information is obtained. Prepares and positions patient for procedure by using established Ultrasound protocols to achieve the highest quality image. Reviews, verifies and evaluates images to ensure excellent image quality. Trouble shoots and resolves ultrasound related PACS issues. Participates in performance improvement projects within the department. Floats within department as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Duties are to be performed at a Practitioner Level. Floats to specialty unit (if qualified). Assists with mentoring of junior ultrasound technologists and students as needed. Assists other ultrasound technologists with difficult procedures that require advanced skills.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent years of experience.
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in AB and OB/GYN.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months of hire date.
Two (2) years of relevant clinical experience.
Possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned.
Excellent communication skills.
Demonstrated computer skills.
Special Conditions
Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and some overtime as needed.
Pay Hourly Equivalent: $67.78
Annual Full Pay Range: $141,525 - $141,525 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%).
