The
Associate Dean
serves as a senior leader in the academic and student services arenas, overseeing the Office of Academic Affairs and the Office of Student Services. This position is responsible for ensuring excellence in teaching, academic compliance, student success, and institutional performance. The Associate Dean works closely with the Executive Director to align academic and student-centered strategies with the institutional mission, accreditation standards, and state regulations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership and Supervision
Lead and manage the Academic and Student Services area, ensuring aligned strategic planning, collaborative leadership and institutional responsibility.
Promote a comprehensive approach to academic quality, teaching excellence, student support, and institutional results.
Support the professional development of academic and student services staff through mentoring, coaching, and continuing education.
Academic Supervision
Ensure that academic programs comply with CIE and DEAC regulations and are aligned with institutional objectives.
Guide curriculum innovation, learning assessment, teacher performance evaluation, and program review processes.
Monitor key indicators such as retention rates, graduation, student satisfaction, and teaching quality.
Student Experience & Support
Oversee student services initiatives including orientation, counseling, employability, student integration, and case resolution.
Ensure the timely and effective resolution of student concerns, appeals, or support needs, promoting an inclusive and well-being-focused environment.
Monitor student service indicators such as job placement rates, re-entry, extracurricular participation, and satisfaction.
Institutional Compliance and Effectiveness
Ensure that academic and student services internships meet internal and external audit requirements.
Supervise the development and timely delivery of reports required by Executive Management and regulatory agencies.
Promote data-based decision-making and continuous improvement in all processes under their responsibility.
REQUIREMENTS
Bilingual (MUST): advanced command of Spanish and English.
Doctoral degree
in Education, Administration in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or another related area.
Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience at institutions of higher education, including direct supervision of academic and student service functions.
Solid knowledge of educational regulations in Florida, accreditation standards (e.g., DEAC, CIE) and good practices in student support.
Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
