Pay Information Pay range is provided by CalHR. Base pay for the position is $12,131.00 to $14,453.00 per month. Actual pay will be based on skills and experience.
About This Role Under the administrative direction of the Chief Deputy Director, the Chief, Information Technology Division functions as the Division Chief and Chief Information Officer (CIO), overseeing the planning, organizing, and coordinating of the work of the Information Technology Division (ITD). The CIO serves as the principal policymaker for the department’s IT programs and services, a member of the Executive team, and the chief IT policy advisor to Executive Staff on all aspects of IT.
Responsibilities include: developing and implementing innovative IT solutions, managing large‑scale IT programs, fostering diversity and inclusion, ensuring data‑driven continuous service improvement, supporting innovation and culture change, and leading beyond the IT function when necessary to support organization‑wide success.
Special Requirements All applicants must submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) that addresses each numbered item listed below. 1 - Describe experience developing and implementing innovative IT solutions for a variety of business needs, including:
Ability to manage a large‑scale IT program;
Ability to develop a culture that values diversity and inclusion;
Ability to ensure a data and analytics‑informed culture of continuous service improvement and evaluation;
Ability to collaborate and support innovation and culture change throughout the Division.
Include relevant years of managerial experience and examples that demonstrate timely delivery of services to customers and staff.
2 - As a member of the Executive team, describe an initiative or decision where you prioritized organization success over IT needs or resources.
3 - Describe experience with IT policy development, recommendation, and implementation, including facilitation of priorities and policy direction aligning with the organization’s mission.
4 - Describe experience overseeing IT projects, including an enterprise modernization project with budget, cloud and virtual environments, operational management, and system development and migration strategies.
