Prosecute patent applications for leading global technology companies across diverse technical fields Draft patent applications, office action responses, and related USPTO correspondence for electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, and physics technologies Conduct detailed patentability and freedom‑to‑operate analyses Collaborate directly with clients including inventors, in‑house counsel, and technology leadership on patent strategy Participate in case discussions with clients to understand technical innovations and develop optimal IP protection strategies Conduct prior art searches and analyze patent landscapes in emerging technology areas Prepare claim charts, infringement analyses, and validity opinions Stay current on developments in patent law including USPTO practice changes and relevant case law Work collaboratively with other professionals including patent agents, trademark attorneys, and litigation counsel Support trademark, copyright, and other IP matters as needed to provide comprehensive client service Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or closely related technical field required Active registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) required One to three years of substantial patent prosecution experience as a licensed attorney at a U.S. law firm or in‑house legal department Demonstrated experience drafting patent applications and prosecuting cases before the USPTO Strong technical writing abilities with proven skill in translating complex technical concepts into clear patent claims and descriptions Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to identify patentability issues Outstanding communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also managing independent responsibilities Self‑motivated work ethic with commitment to delivering high‑quality work product Strong organizational and time management skills for handling multiple matters simultaneously Technical Background
