Overview

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role offers an opportunity to develop retail skills in a fast-paced environment, with responsibilities including cashiering, merchandising, and assisting customers. Bilingual skills are a plus, and previous experience in grocery stores or retail sales is preferred. The Cashier will play a vital role in maintaining store operations and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and sales techniques.

Responsibilities

• Operate POS systems efficiently to process customer transactions accurately
• Handle cash, credit, and debit payments with precision and integrity
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly and addressing inquiries
• Assist with product demos and upselling to enhance sales opportunities
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability
• Conduct basic retail math for cash handling and transaction balancing
• Assist with inventory management including stock replenishment and product placement
• Uphold phone etiquette when interacting with customers over the phone
• Support store team with supervising experience as needed, including supervising sales floor activities
• Engage customers in promoting store products and special offers to increase sales

Experience

• Prior experience in retail sales or grocery stores is preferred but not required
• Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering procedures is advantageous
• Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities, are highly valued
• Experience in supervising or leading team members is a plus
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
• Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
• Knowledge of merchandising, stock management, and product demos is beneficial
