Position Overview: The Plant Controller will serve as the key financial business partner to plant operations, providing financial leadership, insight, and analytical support to drive performance and profitability. This role will oversee the plant’s accounting functions, ensure accuracy in cost and inventory reporting, and present financial results to both operations and corporate leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all plant accounting activities, including cost accounting, inventory management, and month-end close processes.
Develop and maintain standard costing systems and ensure accurate valuation of inventory and production costs.
Analyze plant performance metrics and partner with operations leadership to identify areas for improvement and cost savings.
Prepare and present plant financial results, forecasts, and variance analyses to executive leadership.
Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies, internal controls, and GAAP.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes for the plant.
Lead and mentor accounting staff to foster a high-performance, collaborative team environment.
Partner with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
Minimum of 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including cost accounting and inventory management.
Manufacturing industry experience required.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to non-financial leaders.
Proficiency in JD Edwards or a similar ERP system required; advanced Excel skills preferred.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively between finance and operations teams.
