Job Overview We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accounting Specialist to support the pre‑ and post‑acquisition phases of a recently signed transaction. This hands‑on role focuses on preparing key technical accounting deliverables, including Purchase Price Allocation (PPA) journal entries.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with SOX control requirements by understanding intangible asset valuation methods and preparing a thorough tie‑out of the valuation report to the underlying support data.

Analyze financial activity during the “stub period” (from the target’s latest audited financial statements to the closing balance sheet date) to validate the completeness and accuracy of the closing balance sheet.

Prepare and post accurate PPA journal entries within SAP.

Assist in the design and preparation of the Statement of Cash Flows for the combined entity in the post‑acquisition environment.

Review and confirm the implementation of policy alignments across various technical areas, including fixed assets, prepaids, deferred contract costs, and leases.

Required Skills and Knowledge

Technical Accounting:

Solid foundation in US GAAP, particularly journal entry preparation and financial statement compilation. Familiarity with ASC 805 (Business Combinations) and ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) is a plus.

Excel Proficiency:

Advanced skills, including managing large datasets, developing trackers, and creating cash‑flow models.

Attention to Detail:

Proven ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in valuation reports and general ledger data.

Agility:

Comfort with a fast‑paced, dynamic environment where priorities change frequently.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

10+ years of relevant accounting experience in general ledger accounting, audit, or financial reporting.

Prior experience assisting with M&A integrations or purchase accounting is highly desirable.

Experience with SAP preferred.
