We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Infectious Disease Physician for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity. This role is strictly outpatient-based and is part of a long-term vacancy with potential for a more permanent placement. You will be part of a supportive care team and work with a diverse patient population in a well-established hospital system.
- MD or DO with Board Certification or Eligibility in Infectious Disease
- Active Indiana medical license (required)
- BLS certification
- Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in infectious disease preferred
- Provide outpatient consultations and follow-up care for infectious disease cases
- Evaluate and manage patients with a wide range of infectious conditions
- Supervise 1 PA/NP as part of the clinical team
- Document visits and communicate treatment plans using the Cerner EMR
- Perform necessary procedures related to infectious disease care (see skills list)
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
- No weekend shifts
- No call required
- Proficient in outpatient management of infectious disease cases
- Skilled in procedures such as:
- Microscopic specimen evaluation
- Management of vascular access devices/central lines
- Aspiration of abscesses
- Arthrocentesis
- Lumbar punctures
- Diagnostic/therapeutic taps
- Familiarity with intravenous medications and antibiotic therapy
Support Provided:
1 RN, 1 MA, 1 PA/NP, 2 administrative office staff
