About the role As a 2nd Shift Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will be engineering support for quality and equipment troubleshooting for the critical plant processes.
The employees of SMP manufacture zirconium-alloy tubing products used in nuclear fuel assemblies for Westinghouse Nuclear Fuel, our licensees, and other customers worldwide. At our facility, we use manufacturing and inspection systems to meet the exacting standards and demanding tolerances required by our customers.
You will report to the Lead Engineer and be located at Blairsville, PA. You will support this role 100% onsite.
Key Responsibilities
Provide engineering support for second shift process quality and equipment troubleshooting of seamless tube manufacturing and processing equipment.
Lead teams to resolve daily production issues.
Apply engineering design and analysis for manufacturing process equipment and the ability to produce and understand mechanical drawings.
Evaluate equipment and systems needed to accomplish our plant production goals.
Develop new and improve legacy processes.
Monitor existing processes and implement improvements to reduce cost of poor quality and production costs.
Suggest sources of manufacture for new process or equipment components.
Apply methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, and statistical process control to support continuous improvement projects.
Develop and deliver presentations to communicate statuses, problem resolutions, and recommendations.
Analyze and recommend use of technological innovations in machinery and manufacturing techniques to solve complex manufacturing problems.
Qualifications B.S. in Engineering or Engineering Technology
Familiar with Lean Six Sigma tools and statistical process control
3+ years of applicable manufacturing experience required
The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be
$85,200 to $106,500
per year.
