Chief Engineer – Ascent Hospitality

Supervise the operation, maintenance, and repair of the overall hotel operation Manage the Maintenance Staff and coordinate preventive maintenance projects Oversee renovations, plumbing, painting, sheetrock work, electrical, carpentry, and coordinate contractors for remodeling projects Coordinate custodial work as necessary to provide optimum service and guest satisfaction Maintain compliance with state building codes, OSHA safety codes, Fire Department standards, and other regulatory requirements Recruit, interview, and recommend prospective employees including engineers, laborers, painters, and carpenters Ensure accurate use of office equipment, EMS system, and life safety systems Assist in developing emergency plans, conduct drills, and train staff on emergency systems Plan and schedule regular inspection and maintenance of emergency equipment (kitchen hood, fire extinguisher, alarm systems) Resolve guests’ problems and handle all guest requests in a timely manner and according to hotel Standards Essential Functions & Knowledge
Advanced knowledge of building management Extensive experience installing and troubleshooting electrical switches, operating boilers, and repairing appliances Complete understanding of HVAC, plumbing, life safety, and building related systems Current knowledge of related technology advances that would enhance hotel operations Qualifications
College degree or college courses related to engineering helpful Vocational schooling, certification, or related experience in HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry 3+ years hands‑on experience Hotel experience preferred; knowledge of hotel operations Leadership skills Effective verbal and written communications skills Benefits
