Role Summary The Head of Industrial Private Equity – North America, based in New York, is a senior member of the investment organization and supports the firm's North American industrial private equity team and group Chief Investment Officer. The individual is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the firm's industrial sector investments across the United States and Canada. The role involves setting strategy, leading deal origination and execution, managing a team, and ensuring portfolio company value creation and strong investor relations. As a Principal/Partner, the role is primarily accountable for fulfilling their responsibilities, while also acting as a driving force for ideas and strategic input within the firm's investment organization globally.

Key Responsibilities Deal Management & Diligence

Build and maintain extensive networks with investment bankers, advisors, and company founders to identify and source high-potential direct investment opportunities in industrial sectors across the United States and Canada.

Prepare and present investment memoranda to the Investment Committee, lead negotiations on transaction documentation (e.g., Share Purchase Agreements), and ensure favorable terms are secured.

Define and refine the firm's overall investment strategy within the industrial vertical, staying abreast of market trends, tracking deal flow, and identifying new areas for growth.

Portfolio Management & Value Creation

Actively engage with the boards and management teams of portfolio companies as an owner's representative, driving strategic initiatives, implementing operational improvements, and monitoring performance to unlock their full potential and maximize returns.

Experience managing and leading investment teams and resources to help drive value in fund portfolio companies.

Strong portfolio company management skills and experience of successfully generating returns for fund investors, throughout various market cycles.

Stakeholder Management & Leadership

Create, implement, and oversee investment strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to all applicable regulations, commercial terms and internal policies.

Provide professional and disciplinary leadership to deal teams, including mentoring and training junior professionals (Analysts, Associates, VPs) to ensure effective workflow and career development.

Play a crucial role in fundraising efforts, building and maintaining relationships with limited partners (LPs) such as pension funds, insurance groups and family offices, and representing the firm at events and update meetings.

Candidate Profile Qualifications & Experience

MBA or another advanced degree from a world leading academic institution.

More than 15 years of experience in a portfolio management role with a private equity firm or as a senior investment professional at a large multinational industrial company.

Proven industrial investment track record, with strong preference for experience from a strategic balance sheet investment group or a blue-chip investment firm.

Strong command of industry best practices and experience of Investment Committee participation.

Excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills.

Have experience of advising executives and company boards.
